I wouldn't say no truth, because a lot of promises politicians make cannot happen due to the separation of powers. For instance, Obama's stimulus package ended up getting slaughtered thanks to Senate Republicans "adjusting downward" the amount of public spending. Definitely not saying you're wrong though.
