FRIENDS ARENA

Friends Arena will be a world leading stadium within live experiences. It is Sweden’s new national stadium and the home of the Swedish national football team.

The stadium is Scandinavia’s first premium stadium and has a capacity of 65 000 guests, a retractable roof and can host all types of events.

DECEMBER 2009 – Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden broke ground.

MARCH 2012 – Swedbank, name sponsor of the stadium, announced that they had decided to rename the stadium Friends Arena instead of Swedbank Arena to support the cause of the non-profit organization. Friends is an organization which strives to end bullying in schools.

AUGUST 2012 – The construction of Friends Arena is completed.

OCTOBER 2012 – Grand opening of Friends Arena.

NOVEMBER 2012 – Football Inauguration game, Sweden vs. England.
